About Me: Melbourne Photographer Susan Bradfield

I specialise in newborn, maternity and family photography across Melbourne and Bayside, creating natural, connection‑focused images in my Brighton studio and outdoors.

In what now seems like another lifetime ago, I was a physiotherapist, and a ‘professional’ expat who has lived in London, Shanghai and Zürich. I am now located in Bayside, Melbourne with a Diploma in Photography from the Photography Institute, (2015), where I have secured myself as a professional photographer, with now over twelve years experience. This transition started with my travel and capturing my journeys and stories on camera. As a mother of two, I understand the invaluable and important legacy of photographic memories and passionately believe in the importance of documenting our lives. I feel inspired to create and capture natural images of people and of this amazing world we live in.  But most importantly, I am motivated to capture connection and emotion: of beautiful moments when loved ones are together.

Aside from photography, I love spending time with friends and my fabulous family and my spoodle Fudge, I love to travel, ‘good’ music, watching great movies, and I run and enjoy Pilates to work off my love of good food. I am also a closet Survivor fan but probably won’t admit that in public. :)

I have always enjoyed meeting people and listening to their stories. Based in Brighton, Bayside Melbourne, whether it is for newborn, maternity, family or branding photography, and my physiotherapy background gives me a deep understanding of safe newborn handling, which helps parents feel relaxed and confident during their session.
