MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When SHOULD I book MY maternity PHOTO SESSION?
Maternity photos are best captured around 30-36 weeks when you have a nice round bump.
You can contact me at any time during your pregnancy to book a tentative time for your session, although it is advisable to secure your session in the second trimester. Closer to delivery we can firm up the session date.
Where are your sessions held?
You have a choice of studio or outdoors: I have a cosy, well equipped studio in Brighton, bayside Melbourne. It filled with beautiful light perfect for capturing photos of your pregnancy journey. I also offer outdoor sessions at a location of your choice (within 10km radius of Hampton, Vic.) To ensure a seamless and focused experience, sessions are held at either a studio or an outdoor location, not both.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE SESSION?
You are welcome to bring any lingerie, your denim jeans, or a favourite dress you would love captured. I would also suggest bringing your refreshments of choice to keep you hydrated and energised throughout the session.
do you provide gowns?
Yes! I have an extensive maternity gown and fabric wardrobe which you may use free of charge. My wardrobe varies in sizes and styles and I will work closely with you so we achieve your style and look.
Can i have black and white images?
Yes! I provide your digital images in both black and white, and colour.
can my partner or family members be included in the images?
Yes! In fact I encourage it.
do you offer guidance on posing?
Absolutely! I am really good at making you feel comfortable, and I know how to make women look their best in photos. I want this to be a relaxing and memorably happy experience for you.
how long does the session last?
Usually 60-90 minutes. This allows for several outfit, lighting and backdrop changes so we achieve variety in your gallery.
What is your pricing?
Upon booking you will be required to pay a non-refundable retainer of $150 (for a single session). For a combined maternity and newborn session, the session fee is $300. Digital and printed products are in addition to this. Packages start at $525 for six digital images. For a more detailed pricing information, please contact me directly.
what about hair and makeup?
If you’d like professional hair and makeup for your session, I can connect you with trusted artists who specialise in enhancing natural beauty. Payment is made directly to them.
How do I choose my images?
After the session, I take some time to roughly edit your images. Around 1 to 2 weeks later, I invite you back to the studio, and I will show you a select number of photos from the session. You choose your package on this day. Packages start at $525 for six finely crafted and edited digital images and their complimentary prints. I then take your chosen images and polish them up and then share the final images with you via Dropbox.
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PRINTED PRODUCTS:
I am very happy to work with you on your wall art and printed products. I take printing very seriously, so I print with a professional Australian printer who uses fine art, archival quality paper, canvases and inks. This means there will be no over-saturation or colour changes in your prints, and no colour fading with time so your prints will literally last for your grandchildren to see and touch.
