Your Professional Family Photography Session:
It’s All About Connection…naturally
As an award‑winning family photographer (and mum of two), I love helping families capture their story — that includes little kids, big kids, and even your whole extended family crew.
With your choice of outdoors in Bayside Melbourne or further afield, or in my Brighton photography studio, my sessions are relaxed, always guided and genuinely fun. I’ll help you feel comfortable, gently direct you when needed (for all those who like some ‘posing’ guidance - I am there for you) , and I will capture the connection and personality that will make your resulting family photography uniquely yours.
I also offer newborn photography and pregnancy photography sessions which can include your family members.
Location: Choose from Studio or Outdoor Family Photoshoots
For your family photoshoot in Melbourne, you can choose between an outdoor session or our Brighton Bayside studio. We can discuss what’s best for your family when you book.
Studio sessions in my Brighton studio offer a more controlled environment (no weather worries) with soft lighting and clean backdrops.
Outdoor family photography sessions can take place at a location around Bayside, Melbourne – either at a spot of your choosing, or one that I can recommend based on your family’s requirements. I love beach photography sessions and also at gardens in Bayside Brighton, as well as Black Rock, Sandringham, Hampton, Elwood, Malvern East and even Aspendale. I can advise you on the right fit for you. I do offer destination family photo shoots so please reach out if this is your thing.

Your Family Photography Questions, Answered
What should we wear for our family photos?
I am happy to work closely with you to help with wardrobe coordination and styling tips that work well on camera. I recommend keeping it simple with neutral tones or soft colours and avoiding logos or busy patterns. Most importantly, wear something that feels like you.
Can you help with choosing outfits?
Yes — I’m always happy to help. You’re welcome to send photos of outfit options beforehand, and I can guide you on what will photograph best together.
What if my kids don’t sit still?
This is completely normal — and absolutely okay. With years of experience (and two kids of my own), I work gently, playfully and at your child’s pace. We keep things relaxed, fun and pressure‑free, and beautiful moments always unfold.
How long does a family photo session take?
Sessions typically last around 60 to 90 minutes. This gives us plenty of time to capture a mix of posed and candid shots without feeling rushed.
Where do family sessions take place?
Sessions are held in my Brighton studio or at one of my favourite outdoor locations across Bayside. Outdoor sessions are chosen for their soft light, natural backdrops and easy access for families.
Can extended family join the session?
Yes, absolutely. I photograph families of all ages and sizes, including grandparents and larger extended groups. Just please let me know who’s coming beforehand so I can plan the session flow.
Do you offer weekend sessions?
Yes — weekend dates are available but book out quickly, especially in peak seasons. If you need a weekend, it’s best to book early. I do charge a weekend surcharge for weekend service.
How far in advance should we book?
Most families book 4–6 weeks ahead, especially for outdoor sessions. If you need something sooner, feel free to ask — I may have last‑minute availability.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If we’ve planned an outdoor session and the weather isn’t suitable, we simply reschedule or move into the studio. I keep a few backup dates available for this reason.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes — dogs are always welcome at outdoor sessions. It is essential we discuss this beforehand d so I can choose a location that suits.
Do you offer prints and albums?
Yes — I offer premium prints, framed artwork and albums designed to last for generations. You can add these to your collection at any time.
